In an absolutely scintillating final race of the season, Gus Addison has taken his third world drivers championship in a somewhat crucial final lap. Daniel Bruner took his second win of the season, however fell short of the title by a single point.

Will Spargrove claimed pole, while championship contenders Addison, Bruner, and Heininen, qualified 7th, 2nd, and 8th. Gus Addison made a good start, while Mikko Heininen fell down into 9th. Daniel Bruner meanwhile remained in 2nd, behind Spargrove. Alvaro Magellen became of victim from James Malva, who wiped the Rock Wallaby driver out of the race. Mike Nadaruk also was involved in a collision; hitting the rear of Espinosa, spinning and having his rear wing wiped off Salonen.

It became evident Luiz Santos was struggling in 4th place, later losing places to Barclay, Pruett, and crucially Gus Addison. Will Spargrove continued to lead the race, however Daniel Bruner right behind him. Daniel Bruner needed to take the win to have any chance of the title. Meanwhile it became clear Mikko Heininen's title charge was nearly over, as the Fin struggled in 9th place.

A couple of laps later Daniel Bruner had made the crucial pass; passing Spargrove to take the lead. At this point if the race had ended then; Daniel Bruner would be world champion. Sixth placed Gus Addison needed to respond. The Fast Orange driver only needed to finish 5th to win the championship; this meant that the the next and final couple of laps were absolutely crucial of how the Season Seven world championship would play out. Race leader and champion elect Daniel Bruner looked strong and in control, and the Nakley garage was full of nerves. Meanwhile Gus Addison was pushing like crazy, the Fast Orange team on their toes; it was the final lap.

Gus Addison moved into Ivan Pruett's slipstream, pulled out to the right and passed the Peugeot driver with grit. Gus Addison had made the crucial pass and made his way into his targeted position. The Fast Orange team cheered, while the hearts of the Nakley team sank.

Daniel Bruner crossed the finish line to take his second win of the season, however gutted to miss out on the championship by only one point. Despite losing on on both driver's and constructors championship by such little margins, Nakley have ended the season with the fastest car; surely the team will be the ones to watch next season. After winning both championship last season, Lamborghini will be disappointing with third; the disappointing seasons end for both drivers have caused this.

After such an exiting season, the teams and drivers will look ahead to next season. Gus Addison will regain the number one on his car, while the likes of Daniel Bruner, Luiz Santos, Mikko Heininen, Luigi Vitalio, and his own teammate Will Spargrove will be aiming to take it away from him.

Driver Reaction

Gus Addison (5th, Driver's World Champion)
Fast Orange-Holden
"It's an incredible day for the team and myself, to win a third drivers champion, I'm just so happy. The team have been incredible all season long, and it's the perfect way for them to get what they deserve. A fourth constructors title is great, and I am so happy for the team. Every race we have gone to we have made the most of our position. Even though somewhat it has been difficult to maintain consistent podiums, we have come out on top. I am looking forward to next season, how car should continue to be fast and very reliable. I thank the team again as today is such a special moment for me".

Daniel Bruner(1st)
"If we go back to this time last season, it was no where, where the team wanted to be, nor myself. This season has proven that Nakley are once again front runners. Today we did all we could, unfortunately, and of for sure it is disappointing to miss out on the championship by one point. The first race of the season, Gus Addison beat me to the win right at the end, by less then a tenth of a second. Today he beats me by just one point. Congratulations to Gus and Fast Orange, they deserve it and have proven to be tough rivals. I am very eager to begin the new season, start from fresh and go for the championship wit full confidence".

Will Spargrove (2nd)
Fast Orange-Holden
"Well done to Gus and the team for the success for this season. I am privileged o be part of such a special team with such success. Clearly I would have liked to have won for the team today, however Daniel drove well and I had a good battle with him. The season as been up and won for me, however I have ended it of not too bad. Looking forward for next season, to continue my performance and win some more".

Luigi Vitalio (3rd)
"I can't help but feel it was a championship we lost in which we shouldn't have. Sadly too many times this season we had bad luck. I just want to start again next season, where for sure I will win the championship".
