After a arguably difficult start to his Fast Orange career, Will Spargrove has made amends by winning the Belgian Grand Prix from pole position. Luigi Vitalio was challenging for the lead the whole race, however had to settle for 2nd; ahead of Jewel Barclay in 3rd.

Luigi Vitalio was eager to take the lead into the first corner, however was lucky to not wipe out Jewel Barclay, after saving a spin. Stuart Watts stalled off the line; as de Costa, Crowe, and Espinosa all collided front wings. Will Spargove started to maintain his gap to Vitalio, with Barclay, Pruett and Addison right behind. Things were about to get better for championship leader Gus Addison, as fourth placed Pruett pulled to the side from a suspected gearbox failure.

There was even more drama down the rear of the field, as Alvaro Magellen lost his suspension; sending the Portuguese driver into the barrier. Meanwhile Petro Vitalio and Rico Rendon were fighting hard for thirteenth place. As the leading five begun to pull away, Kyle Aroni was left in sixth holding off Mikko Heininen and Luiz Santos. However the Italian was soon to spin under pressure, falling down into tenth place behind his Subaru teammate.

Race leader Will Spargrove was in control of the race, however has issues with back marker teams; as did his Fast Orange teammate. Despite a late lung into the final chicane from Vitalio; Will Spargrove drove to the finish line to take his first win since the Belgian Grand Prix last season, and his first win for Fast Orange. Jewel Barclay finished in 3rd, making it his third podium in succession. Gus Addison once again extended his championship lead after finishing in 4th, ahead of Daniel Bruner, Mikko Heininen, and Luiz Santos. Mike Nadaruk scored points for BMW in 8th, ahead of the Subaru pair of Kyle Aroni and Mika Salonen.

Driver Reaction

Will Spargrove (1st)
Fast Orange-Holden
"I want to thank the team for their hard work and support after a somewhat difficult start for me. The car felt really good, as it has done the past few races this time things went right. For the remaining races I want more wins and podiums, I will show Fast Orange what I can really do. I love this track, it's where I won here last season for Subaru".

Luigi Vitalio (2nd)
Lamborghini
"I was able to stay with Will for the whole race, though unusually it was difficult to overtake on this track. Like Will my season has been up and down, without misfortune I would be leading the championship. The championship is still in reach and I truly think I will win it".

Jewel Barclay (3rd)
Nakley-Peugeot
"A great result for myself today and the team, I am liking these podiums! I feel I am getting use to the car more and more each race. However I think Daniel is in a better chance of taking the championship, so whenever I am happy to help him. The team deserves these results. Who knows, I would really do well to take my first win".
