Luiz Santos has won a thrilling British Grand Prix, having started from fifth on the grid. Jewel Barclay claimed his first podium of the season in 2nd, while his teamate Bruner finished in third having started on pole. After taking his third win of the season, the Brazilian is closing in on his fourth world drivers championship.

The race started cleanly, with only Gus Addison falling to eighth behind Kyle Aroni. Daniel Bruner led, however had Will Spargrove and Luigi Vitalio close behind. Vitalio however was quick to pass Will Spargrove for second, and begun to close down on Bruner. Further down the field the battle for 11th was heating up between Jean Alaniz, Mike Nadaruk, Alva Askew, and Kurtis Villareal; all pushing eachother off track.

As Bruner, Vitalio, and Spargrove led the way; Luiz Santos had begun to post some impressive lap times and caught the trio. As Will Spargrove took notice, the Fast Orange driver responded by passing Vitalio for second, and soon passing Bruner for the lead. Meanwhile Bruner's teamate, Jewel Barclay was carving his way through the field moving into fifth. Spargrove was leading, however due to pressure the Australian hit the kerb to hard; resulting in a bad run on the straight. This resulted in being passed by Bruner and Vitalio, slipping to third. Spargrove's troubles worsened as he was passed by the charging Luzi Santos, and Jewel Barclay soon after. Luiz Santos had now moved into third, however made it second, after passing his teamate Luigi Vitalio.

With five laps to go, Bruner led from Santos, Vitalio, and Barclay; however the Rock Wallaby drivers who were being lapped would play a big part in the outcome of the race. Luiz Santos moved into the slipstream of Fabianio Donatelo, easily takinbg the lead from a frustrated Daniel Bruner. Jewel Barclay also moved passed Luigi Vitalio, however with no help from a backmarker. However Vitalio was too eager in re-taking third place, ploughing into the side of Barclay. As Barclay recieved little damage, Vitalio was stranded on the track leaving fifth place Spargrove no room. Spargrove knocked off his front wing while Vitalio retired from the race.

Luiz Santos drove to the flag to take his third win of the season. Nakley completed their first double podium finish of the year as Jewel Barclay passed his teamate for 2nd. Gus Addison finished in 4th to hold onto his championship lead, Kyle Aroni came home in 5th, Salonen 6th, and Mikko Heininen 7th. Ivan Pruett could only manage 8th at his home race, while Will Spargrove and Mike Nadaruk completed the top ten.

Driver Reaction

Luiz Santos (1st)
Lamborghini
"I was able to push the car more around the mid way point of the race, Lugi was ahead of me and visually I could see I was catching. I passed Luigi, then Spargrove, then Daniel. It is great to come here and win as the last few weeks have been difficult for myself. The car was great and I think I can take another win at Hockenheim, where I have already won five times before".

Jewel Barclay (2nd)
Nakley-Peugeot
"I want to thank the team for giving me such a good race car this weekend. The car came alive ater five laps and I could go as fast as anyone. It's my first podium in a while, so this result is very special to me. Daniel has shwon he can win and take poles in this car, so I need to do the same, I can do at Germany".

Daniel Bruner (3rd)
Nakley-Peugeot
"I lost the lead after won of the Rock Wallaby drivers blocked me on the straight, it meant Luiz could pass easily. So apart from that I enjoyed the race, I had a great fight for the lead with Vitalio and Spargrove. I just wish to see what could have been if I wasn't blocked".
